Sundive Byron Bay shopfront
Sundive Byron Bay
Established in 1988, Sundive is the only dive centre located in Byron Bay. Sundive has a PADI rating of 5 Stars, representing our commitment to quality, safety and service. We launch our boats from The Pass in Byron, making it a 10-minute journey to Nguthungulli Julian Rocks, and our team consists of highly qualified and experienced staff, ensuring a memorable experience.
Nguthungulli Julian Rocks is world famous for its marine life. Warm and cold water currents meet here resulting in a spectacular mix of tropical and cold water fish creating one of the most abundant fish dives in the world. On most of our dives, we see big sharks and rays, large schools of pelagics, turtles as well as nudibranchs and a lot of smaller marine life. We are only a quick boat ride from shore so we bring you back to the shop between dives.
Prefer to stay above the surface? From May to November we also run small-group whale watching trips into the Bay, see below for details.

Whale Watching
Departing right from Sundive in the heart of Byron Bay, join a small group of just 8 guests for an up-close Byron Bay whale watching adventure. Every year from May to November, thousands of humpback whales migrate past Nguthungulli Julian Rocks, and launching straight from The Pass puts you out among them in minutes. Spend around two hours on the water looking for breaches, tail slaps, spy hops and more, backed by our Whale Guarantee: if you don't see a whale, you can come back and try again.
